Non-Executive Independent Director
John joined the Board of KrisEnergy in January 2013. He was a Managing Director and a Senior Advisor of the Goldman Sachs Group until 2006. He has over 30 years of experience in investment banking and law.
Prior to joining the Goldman Sachs Group in 1999, John spent 19 years as a lawyer at various firms, including J. Koh & Co, a Singapore firm which he founded, as well as serving in the Singapore Attorney-General’s Chambers office and the Ministry of Finance.
John also serves on various boards of directors including NSL Ltd. (Singapore), which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He serves as the Chairman of the Audit Committees of the company. John is a Non-Executive Director and a member of the Audit and Risk Committees of Mapletree Industrial Trust, a Singapore listed REIT. He was also a Director and Chairman of the Investment Committee of MIF, a private real estate fund managed by the Mapletree group.
John has interests in various book businesses in the United Kingdom and the United States and in an ebook venture. He is a Director on Singapore’s National Library Board and on the Development Board of Oxford University’s Bodleian Library.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degree from the University of Cambridge, UK, and is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
