Bernard, who was appointed as Independent Non-executive Director in October 2019, enjoyed a 40-year career with Perenco Group from the company’s start up in 1977 until his retirement in 2017.

Bernard was involved in all aspects of the evolution and development of Perenco from a small oil service company operating in Indonesia to a global oil and gas operator to a global upstream oil and gas operator from Asia to Africa, Europe and Latin America. He also established and managed service companies in all operational activities: seismic, diving, drilling and installation, both onshore and offshore.

Bernard was decorated with the National Order of Valor as Chevalier (Cameroon) following first oil at the Ebome oil field in 1996.

Bernard is a certified engineer majoring in electronics and mechanics from École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Brest.
